I have this bad habit of washing my hair right before I sleep and even before I lay down, I put my wet hair in a bun. That’s probably how I got them. My hair is wavy to curly (it’s got moods!) and brown. It is pretty much low maintenance ( I dont even comb my hair! :)). Anyway, personally, I dont believe in hair detangler products, but what i will try though is to condition-comb my hair in the shower. I’ll let you know how that goes. :)

Victoria’s Secret Sexy Little Things Noir Tease Body Mist-...

Victoria’s Secret Sexy Little Things Noir Tease Body Mist- $25

Hi everyone! It’s been a while since I updated. But in that long time, I discovered a new scent for myself, which I absolutely love! Victoria’s Secret Sexy Little Things Noir Tease. I am crazy about musk, and was surprised that it didnt contain that, but what it’s got are black vanilla, frozen pear and blooming gardenia. I love how it doesnt smell too fruity or floral. I love how everything blends! I, personally, use this, and this is by far my favorite scent. It smells really flirty, sexy and mysterious. For added staying power, layer with the line’s body wash and lotion.

Psst! It comes in cute packaging, too ;)

You CAN achieve big, fat lashes with ANY mascara you have. Yes, that’s right, ANY of them. The trick is in the application. Instead of simply running the mascara wand from root to tip, apply the mascara in a zigzag manner. This way, the formula settles on the lashes, making you achieve that volumized look.

Hi I'm an Asian girl with slightly oily skin and my nose/chin are full of white flaky stuff, are they white heads? I've been trying to get rid of them but they keep reappearing, do you have any face care regimen or products to recommend? Thanks in advance!

Hey! It sounds like we have the same skin type! I’m not sure though if the flaky stuff you mentioned are dry patches or something else. Do they look like bumps but are not inflamed? If it’s whiteheads you’re talking about, I suggest you get your hands on Oxy Maximum Face Wash or Panoxyl Face Wash. I find that products with Benzoyl Peroxide is more effective compared to ones with Salicylic Acid. Also, you could ask your dermatologist or any pharmacy if they sell Erythromycin 2% solution. This really dries up the spots to keep them from reappearing. :)

hey will you check out my blog? it means a lot

okay sure!

Cheap tip # 01

You can use baby oil to substitute for eye make up remover. Personally, I use this to remove my mascara and eye shadow. And when I dont have any on hand, I use petroleum jelly instead :)

As you can see, this lip balm comes in a squeeze-type tube. It’s a liquid kind of lip balm that’s almost gel in texture. It’s also unscented too, which I really like. It doesn’t feel waxy, as well. It’s the perfect base to put your lipstick on. It helps the color of the lipstick from settling on lines, which is really great. Of course, it’s also amazing on its own! It makes lips look really juicy :)

I got this on a Christmas sale at Php 90, but it’s regularly priced at Php 200. You can get this at Rustan’s or Rochar.

New YOU's Resolution

I thought I was done coming up with new year’s resolutions a long time ago, but i decided that this 2012 is going to be different…I wanna make myself better! :)

I have read a lot of articles on skincare. A lot say that there is no connection of what you eat or drink to how your skin looks. Just like that chocolates or nuts cause pimples. What’s interesting is just a couple of days ago I stumbled upon this article saying that your skin is the reflection of what’s going on inside the body, which totally makes sense! I’ve been breaking out so bad these past few days and realized that I’ve drinking a lot of sodas and have forgotten that there is something called water. That said, I SHALL DRINK MORE GLASSES OF WATER A DAY.

And about the breaking out part, you see, I have an extractor in my bathroom. It is really tempting to resist the urge to pop a zit or remove blackheads, actually. So…I SHALL ONLY USE MY EXTRACTOR TO A MINIMUM.

So there you have it. 2 of my New You’s Resolutions. It is easier said than done, but it is going to be worth the try. What is YOUR New You’s Resolution?

St. Ives Mineral Clay Firming Mask

I was really curious about this product because it’s got kaolin clay in it. I’ve heard a lot of wonders kaolin clay does to skin so I decided to give this product a try. So you may be wondering what kaolin clay does. Kaolin clay absorbs excess oil and sucks out toxins from the skin. It also dries up zits and reduces inflammation. Perfect for my skin type! The directions at the back say you should keep it on until it dries for about 10-15 minutes, but I like to have it on for a longer time. Once washed off, I notice that my skin looks refreshed and smooth. It dries up my pimples too, which I am really happy about. As for the firming part, i noticed that my pores became smaller, but not significantly. It is non-comedogenic so you should definitely give it a try. Let me know how it works for you! :)

On BB Cream

I know that BB creams have been around here in Asia for quite sometime now, but I still haven’t gotten the courage to try them! MAYBELLINE CLEAR SMOOTH ALL-IN-ONE SHINE-FREE CAKE POWDER...

MAYBELLINE CLEAR SMOOTH ALL-IN-ONE SHINE-FREE CAKE POWDER FOUNDATION

Features:

- SPF 25 +++

- All Day Shine Control

- UV Protection

- Fairer Skin

- Conceals

- Long Wear

- Smoothes

- Evens

- Non Comedogenic

- Gentle on Skin

- Available in 4 Asian Shades

I’ve been thinking about getting my hands on powder foundation recently, and it was perfect timing that Maybelline had a 30% off sale on its products. I got this for Php 199, thats around $4.50. I have to admit that I wasn’t very keen on using powder foundation before as I have always used liquid foundation, but this does it for me. It doesn’t take a lot of time applying this product compared to applying liquid foundation. And it does exactly the same job, as this product is full-coverage. What I like about this product is that it minimizes the appearance of my pores. It is also formulated for Asian Skin, making it easy to find a shade that suits me (mine is in Warm Beige). Although, it claims to keep you shine-free all day, I would have to say that I’m already a little oily by noon. Just the same, I recommend this product, especially for makeup starters and those who want a quick application.

This...

Maybelline The Colossal Volum’ Express Mascara

This mascara comes in 2 formulas: waterproof and washable. The Colossal’s got collagen in it to instantly plump up your lashes up to 7x. Plus, it comes with a mega brush. You can choose from 3 colors: Classic Black, Glam Black and Glam Brown. For you contact-lens lovers (just like me), this is definitely safe for you!

I really love this mascara. It really makes my lashes look thicker and longer. Personally, i think that it’s the HUGE brush that really sits the formula on my lashes perfectly. I think that Maybelline constantly produces great mascaras. I bought the waterproof formula in Classic Black over at CVS at around $6. Affordable with great quality.

Tip: Tap the mascara brush at the base of your lashes and apply in a zigzag motion going to the tip.

RECOMMENDED.

This lip balm is an “okay” buy for me. It does its job of moisturizing my lips with frequent application. Lately though, I’ve been experimenting with different lipsticks, and I noticed that this doesn’t help in keeping my lips smooth with lipstick application. I have really chapped lips, no matter how much I rehydrate, so maybe I should try their medicated variant. What I love about this product though, is that it’s mentholated so it feels really cool and refreshing on my lips.

So today I’m sporting neon pink on my nails, and it looks AMAZING. Sure, it kind of feels like wearing reflectors (HAHA) on my hands, but I think that wearing something bright affects the mood. Don’t you think so, too? And it looks good on everyone! What’s on YOUR nails right now? ;)

Try some,
So I’ve tried almost...

Remington Smooth and Silky Epilator

So I’ve tried almost everything in the book to get rid of hair, from shavin to tweezing to waxing, til I discovered this epilator. You might be wondering what an epilator is. Just imagine a small device that contains a lot of mini tweezers in it to get rid of hair! Genius, right?

Remington Smooth and Silky Epilator removes hair from the root without the mess that waxing comes with, the nicks and cuts shaving does, and without so much time consumed that goes with tweezing. This epilator is very portable, as it is rechargeable (no need for batteries!). It has 2 speed settings that can be used in varying hair thickness. It also comes with a safety feature to guard your skin from being pinched. It has moisturizing rollers in it, too! It has a removable head that can be cleaned with the free brush. And hey, it’s got a 2-year warranty! Find it on walmart.com for a cheaper price. I got mine for less than $30!!

The first time I used this product, I’d say it was a bit painful. I got used to the feeling in time, though. Applying some ice cubes is also good to numb the skin. I use the slow speed setting for my arms, and the fast one for my legs. Since it really removes the hair from it’s root, i’m hair-free for a longer period of time and when my hair grows back, it’s finer than it was before. Although I think this product is brilliant, I find that my underarm and bikini area are too sensitive for this. But that’s the only con of this product.

RECOMMENDED

So the next post will be about what it takes for us girls do to...

So the next post will be about what it takes for us girls do to be smooth and hair-free.
Posie tint by Benefit Cosmetics

Posie tint is a stain that promises to deliver that “poppy-pink” color on both your lips and cheeks. It is subtle enough that’s perfect for that “no makeup” make-up look. It is also buildable so you can achieve the hue you desire. And guess what? It stays on for hours as it is “kiss-proof” and “nuzzle-proof”. The product comes in a box with a little insert to guide you in applying Posie tint. I definitely recommend this product.
